The Oenology Analytical Lab of the Research and Development Center at Eszterházy Károly Catholic University serves the winemakers and producers of the Eger wine region, the Northern Hungary Wine Region, with its service and consulting activities in addition to its viticultural and oenological research tasks.

The primary goal of the university’s Oenology Analytical Lab, which has been in operation for more than 10 years, is to provide reliable, accurate and prompt results to the winemakers who use its services.

As the only laboratory in the region accredited for oenological measurements, it has been operating under accreditation by the National Accreditation Authority (registration number NAH-1-1919/2023) in relation to several measurement parameters since 17 August 2023.

We aim to follow internationally recognised standards for the wine tests available in the service. High-quality laboratory instruments facilitate reliable results which allow for ongoing in-lab benchmarking.

Owing to the strict quality assurance requirements that govern all aspects of our laboratory operation, we successfully participate in international proficiency tests for our entire service portfolio.
