EGER WINE MEETUP

EGER, WINE, MEETING

In 2023, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University revitalized our annual conference for professionals in viticulture, winemaking, and estate management, a history spanning over two decades. Mark your calenders for 2025, as the Eger Wine Meetup returns.

The event will feature renowned experts in grape cultivation, wine production, and the wine market. Our guest speakers have a track record of success with their winery or are recognized specialists in their field. We believe that their stories can serve as inspiration and their knowledge can provide valuable guidance to winery leaders who continually seek opportunities for growth and advancement.

Forward-Thinking Leaders in Winemaking Welcome

We believe in a world where lifelong, continuous learning is essential. As the university host of this conference, our core philosophy and daily operations revolve around acquiring and sharing knowledge. If we also consider that we operate in the heart of the Eger wine region, offer educational programmes in viticulture and oenology, and our research programmes support the daily work of viticulturists and winemakers, we see the conference as a vital opportunity to provide a platform for the growth of Hungarian winery leaders.

2025

The name "Eger Wine Meetup" represents both the importance of personal meetings and the strong international outlook in the field of integrating new information and approaches into domestic practice.

The two-day conference will address topics of significant professional interest. International presentations will feature leading foreign researchers discussing:

  • The impact of climate change on winemaking;
  • Resistance breeding as a solution to emerging challenges;
  • Current methods for managing grapevine diseases;
  • Advances in winemaking technology with live demonstration;
  • Domestic and international good practices in wine estate building and community wine marketing

The event will provide a space for developing and strengthening international and domestic scientific and business relationships.
